Clark, Cooke Honored At Annual Meeting
Both Dick Clark and Linda Cooke were honored in front of over 400 business leaders last week at our 102nd Annual Meeting as we celebrated our accomplishments in 2011 and focused on the job at hand for 2012. Chris Madsen, immediate past chair, Mad 4 Marketing, reviewed numerous achievements and handed the gavel to Andreas Ioannou, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, 2012 Chair of the Board.
Clark, CEO of Clark Leadership Consulting, received the Carolyn Michaels Leadership Award for decades of contributions to the Chamber as President & CEO and more recently as the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors coupled with his Director duties. He helped shape our four mega issues back in 2010, too.
Cooke, the ever present Chamber activist from Habilitation Center, received the Chair’s Award for her dedication in producing the Washington Fly program after nearly a decade hiatus. Cooke is also a member of the Board and has served on the Executive Committee and the CEO Search Committee, among others.
Ioannou announced the See the Value…Seize the Value Membership Campaign that will recruit 100 new members in 100 days and incentivize participation through prizes like a two day, three night stay at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. The campaign begins March 15 and runs through June 15. Members who refer companies that join the Chamber during that period qualify to be in the mix for awards. For example, the member who refers the most general members who join during the period will receive a grand prize selected especially for them. The member who recruits the most Trustee members will receive a grand prize for that category, too.
I’d like to encourage you to attend the Senior Executive Orientation’s (SEO) Excellence in Leadership Awards Luncheon, March 9, and the Downtowner of the Year, March 22, both held at the Global Event Center, First Baptist Church. If you missed the Annual Meeting, don’t make the same mistake this month.
Lastly, your company has an outstanding opportunity to be part of our 2012-13 Guide To Greater Fort Lauderdale with a reach of well over 50,000 in both digital and print editions. Each member receives two complimentary listings, however, you can upgrade your listing for as little as $99 with a shadow boxed membership listing or your logo above.
