Republic Services, which has provided an essential service across the country during the COVID-19 crisis, has provided the Chamber with a look at the work its doing to support the small businesses and the communities they serve. Most of the company's 36,000 employees remain in the field and continue to work tirelessly to serve their customers.
Republic Services launched “Committed to Serve," their $20 million initiative, to recognize its frontline employees and to help support its small business customers which are the economic engines of local communities. Their goal is to support the economy at the local level – benefiting their small business customers and communities when they need it most.
The Chamber thanks Republic Services for its dedication to supporting our community and for its support of our Chamber. Locally, Republic Services has teamed up with several organizations, many of them being Chamber members. For example, Republic Services has turned to Tom Jenkins BBQ, The Las Olas Company's Riverside Hotel, Top Hat, Primanti Brothers, Olive Garden and Adam & Joe Know Lunch Catering and Eatery to feed 170 frontline employees twice a week for the last 8 weeks. By doing so, Republic Services has given back to the community approximately $22,000 to support the restaurateurs.
