A Message from the Chamber on the Death of George Floyd
The Chamber is engaging with leaders at multiple levels, as we make our collective voice heard in condemning racism, hate and police brutality in the wake of George Floyd's murder at the hands of law enforcement.

Our Chamber understands the movement needed to create long-lasting social change will require sustained energy and conviction. Conversations on what the business community can do to play a role in advancing this need for change are currently being had at Council meetings and will be further discussed by the Chamber's Leadership Team, Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

Last week, our Government Affairs Council invited Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and State Representative Shevrin Jones to speak in the midst of growing demonstrations across our country. The meeting concluded with two resonating thoughts - the need to listen to and be an ally to the protests against social injustice.

Furthermore, the Chamber is hopeful that an op-ed, calling for our business community to be a part of a solution at the local level, will be published by the Sun Sentinel. Our Chamber is also proud to be a member of the South Florida Business Council, which published a letter in solidarity with the movement.
