Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship Now Accepting Applications for the Small Business and Nonprofit Executive Programs
Application Window Extended Through October 31, 2018
BROWARD – Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, which is part of Florida State University’s College of Business, is accepting applications for its Small Business Executive Program and Nonprofit Executive Program Spring 2019 classes in Broward and Palm Beach County. All applications are due October 31, 2018.
“After years of running a nonprofit, I went through the program and it was like someone shook me and said, ‘lady, you’re doing it wrong’,” said Dr. Barbara Weinstein, president and CEO of Family Central, Inc. and a Spring 2016 graduate. “I learned the way we were operating was old fashioned. We weren’t thinking like a business. After implementing everything I learned, Family Central was recently recognized as one of the top 10 best women run businesses in the state of Florida.”
In Spring 2019, Jim Moran Institute will be offering its Small Business Executive Program in both Broward and Palm Beach counties as well as its Nonprofit Executive Program in Broward. The programs commence in January and run through May, featuring nine sessions that each focus on a particular aspect of growing a business or nonprofit.
These executive programs are ideal for CEOs, entrepreneurs, business owners, presidents and executive directors of small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Graduates emerge with the skills and training needed to capitalize on business opportunities, implement best practice management, and turn challenges into strategic advantage. Participants represent a variety of industries, including construction, technology, healthcare, fashion and law. Thanks to Jim and Jan Moran and The Jim Moran Foundation, these programs are offered twice a year at no cost to the accepted participants.
“Entrepreneurs and nonprofit executives who have already started a company but are looking to take their business to the next level should consider applying for these amazing, no-cost programs,” said Jennifer Kovach, director of Jim Moran Institute’s South Florida Operations. “Each year we enjoy watching our program participants achieve personal and professional growth as they learn from others who have been in their shoes before.”
Those interested in applying for the executive program should visit JimMoranInstitute.org and click on “Programs” to apply. Applicants must be actively involved in running the business and a key decision maker whose companies have been established for at least three years with five or more employees (or volunteers if the company is a nonprofit).
Graduates of each program receive a certificate, are afforded the opportunity to be a part of a peer roundtable, and are regularly invited to workshops, conferences and other Jim Moran Institute events.
