Trip to Taiwan, Highlighted by Sister Cities Signing
Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Chair Juliet Roulhac embarked on a trip to Taiwan, along with many other American delegates including Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, for the 2018 Global Harbor Cities Forum.
Mayors and representatives from 38 harbor cities worldwide pledged Sept. 27 in Kaohsiung to pursue the sustainable development of land and sea resources and build more livable and resilient environments that can cope with the effects of climate change.
During last month's Board of Directors meeting, Juliet Roulhac and Russell Weaver from Greater Fort Lauderdale Sister Cities International gave us an update on the outcomes of the trip. Weaver highlighted the importance of the signing of a Sister Cities agreement with representatives from Kaohsiung. They were proud to share that many of the yachts being built in Taiwan at the time of their visit, will be on display at this year's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. They also look forward to continuing communication and work with Fort Lauderdale's new partners in Taiwan.
We had a chance to hear from both Mayor Dean Trantalis and Juliet Roulhac, following their trip. Watch the video below to hear their remarks.
