Leaders Gather Thursday for Innovation and Holiday Cheer
Business leaders will gather at the second annual South Florida Innovation Awards (SFIA) presented by Florida Power and Light at the Galleria at Fort Lauderdale this Thursday, 4:00 pm, second floor near the Children's Theater.
Our competition moves South Florida forward and is first and foremost a civic activity done out of love and respect for our region. We believe innovation creates competitive advantages and directly fuels our economy.
This is not a one day celebration but a sustainable effort of identification and stimulation. That is why we are looking for companies in all forms--big and small, for-profit and non-profit, high tech to low tech or no tech, across all industries and sectors. We are especially interested in those in manufacturing, international trade, transportation, technology, and healthcare.
For innovation to flourish we must seek collaboration across a wide range of constituencies, including corporate leaders, start-up entrepreneurs, university leaders, faculty members and students, investors, and public officials. We will continue to produce other programs connected to SFIA which allow for site visits, education, best practices, and identification of early stage innovation.
There is still time to nominate your company or a client. Perhaps you have run across something you consider innovative which you can nominate. There is no cost only the time to fill out the questionnaire online at www.ftlchamber.com/innovation.
I look forward to seeing you at 4:00 pm on Thursday at Galleria for SFIA, and then at our Holiday Social reception which follows the awards. Register for the Holiday Social here and SFIA here.
