This week we honor several women at our Circle of
Excellence program, presented by BankAtlantic, Thursday, June 10, 11:30 am,
Signature Grand, Davie. Coming up with awardees is no easy task and the
Chamberís Womenís Council of Commerce has spent a great deal of energy creating
Dr. Dorothy Orr, former interim superintendent
with the Broward County School Board, will receive the Lifetime Achievement
Award for her outstanding contributions to our community. Other winners are:
Shari Francis, Office Depot, Heidi Richards Mooney, Eden Florist, Sue Romanos,
CareerXchange, Jen Klaassens, The Wasie Foundation, LaRae Floyd, Broward Health,
and Paula DaSilva, Harbor Beach Marriott, in categories of Professional
Services, Media/Communications, Woman Entrepreneur, Non-Profit, Health Services,
and Hospitality Services respectively.
Thanks to our sponsors,--Citibank, The Curtiss
Group, Broward Health, S3G, and our Chairmanís Circle members--Bank of America,

Two deserving women will also receive
scholarships. Winners this year are LaQuesta Braynen and Isabel Contreras. The
WCC established scholarships for women who have encountered challenges in their
lives but nevertheless are committed to advancing their education to make a
better life for themselves and their families.
