The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to reveal Marlins CEO Derek Jeter will serve as keynote speaker at the 2018 Annual Meeting at 11:30 a.m. February 21 at the Signature Grand in Davie. Jeter is the latest in a long history of prominent figures to address the Chamber and its members.
Jeter will conduct an interactive Q&A with attendees as he discusses the new ownership group’s vision to develop a winning culture in the Marlins franchise and build long-term sustained success for South Florida fans. During his 20-year career on the field, Jeter cemented himself as one of the most respected players of all time and entered the exclusive 3,000 hit club. After his retirement in 2014, he transitioned from baseball to business, founding the innovative multimedia company The Players Tribune and remaining an active participant in his Turn 2 Foundation. He has also made a number of entrepreneurial investments.
Attendees will also learn of transformative, new initiatives which will be spearheaded by incoming Chair of the Board Juliet Roulhac of Florida Power & Light Company. Roulhac will unveil her plans to direct Chamber initiatives in alignment with the organization’s new mission and vision statements. Outgoing Chair Keith Costello of First Green Bank will close his tenure by presenting the 2017 Chair’s Award for outstanding service to a Chamber member who has yet to be revealed.
