It’s time to vote yes on a penny surtax, in order to provide a funding source to take on our transportation issues for the next thirty years and beyond. It’s also time to vote yes on giving a growing number of residents some much-needed help. We can create and sustain affordable housing for Broward County renters and homeowners by approving an Affordable Housing Trust Fund. The fund would come with no tax increase and no cost to voters.

The Marine Advisory Committee started out as a small group of individuals bound by a common cause, doing their part for the Marine Industry in Broward County. At the beginning, the members represented manufacturing, marine electronics, marinas, transportation and other services, support, legal, financial services, accounting, marketing companies, and just avid boaters.

Broward County’s job report indicated a 2.8 percent unemployment rate in September 2018. This rate was 0.9 percent lower than the region’s rate of 3.7 percent, one year ago.
