Dick Clark

Dick Clark is the CEO and president of Clark Leadership Consulting, a national executive coaching and strategic development firm.  He has served in senior executive leadership positions for 40 years.  Current he is Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, Chamber Vice Chair, and member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee.  

Prior to launching Clark Leadership in 2006, Dick served as the Chief Administrative Officer for Nabi Biopharmaceuticals, at the time the largest publicly traded biotech firm in the southeast United States, a 10-year career with an international consulting organization advancing to become its Chief Operating Officer for the Florida/Caribbean Region.  His colleagues consider him as being the ultimate coach, visionary, and strategic thought partner that CEOs respect and admire.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the State University of New York, Potsdam, an Honorary Doctorate in Leadership, and a recipient of the Carolyn M. Michaels Award.

Dick Clark, a CCE (Certified Chamber Executive), provided twenty-two years of leadership as a Chamber CEO, including his tenure as chamber President during which time the current chamber headquarters was built.  He was honored with the Minerva Award in 1990, the highest recognition for lifetime career achievement from Potsdam College’s Alumni Association.

Tamara Chase

Tamara Chase is a Co-Owner of Chase Roofing, a roofing company that has proudly served the Tri County area since 2002. Chase Roofing consistently garnered awards from local newspapers including the honor of being voted “Best Roofer” for six straight years in a row in Davie/Cooper City. In 2011 Chase Roofing was awarded with an international business award for the fastest growing company with fewer than 50 employees.  Chase Roofing is an active member of the Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors Association as well as the South Florida Roofing Contractors Association, where they are extremely proud to announce the acceptance of John Chase (Co-owner of Chase Roofing) as the current President. Tamara Chase has been an active member of The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Fort Lauderdale serving on the Board of Directors of the Weston Council and as a Diplomat.  She has also served on the board of the Association of Professional Businesswomen and is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Chase Roofing feels strongly about giving back to the community as a company supports annually to local organizations such as Starlight Children’s Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis, Susan G Komen for the Cure and Sunserve.  Tamara is an active mentor at Take Stock in Children and is a volunteer at the Guardian ad Litem Program.  Tamara & John have been married for 23 years and have two children, Ryan & Bridget

Sharyn Bey is a video journalist specializing in mini-documentaries for business websites.  Her entire career has been visual arts oriented, ranging from commercial design with an avocation in still photography to present day Videography.  She recently created a new promotional video for Gilda’s Club South Florida.  In doing so, she produced a poignant segment, effectively communicating the organization’s mission of free support for all people who have been affected by cancer.  “My husband passed away from cancer,” she noted.  “It made me very aware of the Gilda’s Club members and their feelings when I was filming.”  Sharyn Bey is Gilda’s Club South Florida’s Chamber Hero!

Cristina Agnone joined the Board of Directors for Rebuilding Together Broward in 2013. Through her previous work with the Broward Housing Partnership, Cristina understands the importance of the work Rebuilding Together does. Her job as the Director of Membership & Business Development at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce strengthens her understanding of being a connector and the need for companies to engage with non-profits.

Since joining the Board of Directors Cristina has helped the organization grow its relationship with potential funders and helped to create new partnerships with other organizations. Cristina has also brought many great ideas on how to raise funds for the organization, including a holiday fundraiser of building gingerbread houses, which will take place at the end of the year.

Winterfest Chamber Hero

The Winterfest Jr. Captain program began five years ago with 15 year old, Amanda Blake as she battled cancer.  Fast forward to 2013, FPL has taken this amazing program to a level beyond our wildest dreams.  We had 14 nominees this year and over 50,000 people viewed the contest on facebook.  

The 2013 Jr. Captain is 16 year old Lauren Bendesky, battling stage IV Neuroblastoma.  Lauren was nominated by A Prom to Remember. She and twenty five of her friends will ride aboard the Jr. Captain Showboat powered by FPL.
