Fort Lauderdale area added 14,700 new private-sector jobs in the past year. Fort Lauderdale’s unemployment rate is 3.8 percent in January, down 0.1 percentage point from one year ago.

Broward County's Jobless Rate Remains Low

Broward County’s jobless rate ticked up a bit to 3.1 percent in December 2018, compared to 2.8% unemployment in November 2018. Still, the December rate was 0.3 percentage points lower than the region’s year ago rate of 3.4 percent.
