Transportation, Education Top Issues At Summit

Transportation, education and workforce development, global trade and regulatory reform ranked highest in mega issues discussed by business leaders at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce's Business Summit held Tuesday at the First Baptist Church.

"This is a unique time for key stakeholders to shape the future for South Florida as we enter the second century of the Chamber's existence," Robert Barron, Berger Singerman, chairman of the board, said.  "It is our responsibility to identify, collaborate and develop consensus on how we address these issues going forward."

Transportation has always ranked high on the list of issues for the business community.  Funding, form and function have always been sticking points for significant advancement in mass transit opportunities in a region of over three million residents.
