In This Together

There are two things which were drilled into me when I was a young executive—work hard and get as much training as you can on how to be a leader.

Now I will be the first to admit that some folks just are not cut out to be leaders.  It would be pretty difficult to gain consensus if we were all Type A personalities.  However, the principles of leadership can serve all personalities.

That’s why I encourage you to be part of Leadership Fort Lauderdale’s Class XVIII.  We are currently accepting applications for this phenomenal program which has over 500 distinguished alumni.

Sometimes we take for granted that others will carry the torch and we abdicate our responsibility to be an active member of our region.  The beauty of Leadership Fort Lauderdale is that many attendees find their niche, giving valuable time and talent to improve the quality of life in South Florida.

I have found the most successful individuals find an area in which they have passion.  It could be serving on the Board of Directors of the Chamber, volunteering for a citizen advisory group, or serving in a leadership position with one of our many non-profit organizations to name but three.

Please take to time to review Leadership Fort Lauderdale’s curriculum.  If it doesn’t work for you, think of someone who would be a good candidate for the program and refer them.  We are in this together.
