Female business leaders recognized

Each year we celebrate businesswomen who have had a significant impact on our community at the Women’s Business Council Circle of Excellence Awards, present again by our partner, BankAtlantic, tomorrow, June 21, 11:30 am at the Signature Grand.

This year’s awardees are no exception to our previous, talented honorees.  Lifetime Achievement, Marsha Levy, HANDY, Inc.; Education, Dr. Peggy Turcotte, Broward College; Professional Services, Courtney Crush, Crush Law; Law Enforcement, Lt. Colonel Kim Spadaro, Broward County Sheriff; Non-profit, Regine Cordon, Children’s Home Society; Health and Welfare, Audrey Millsaps; and Women Entrepreneurs, Cindy Kushner, Crowe Horwath, LLP.

As a community volunteer for HANDY, Inc. (Helping Abused Neglected and Disadvantage Youth), Marsha Levy devotes herself daily to helping kids and young adults.  She has been a member of HANDY for 20 years and is involved in its scholarship and education programs.  Mrs. Levy has also been active with the Broward County School System and Broward College to provide tutoring, mentoring and enrichment through the STARS Academy, providing services to hundreds of students to attend college or vocational tech programs.

All of our awardees will be recognized through the Chamber’s web site.  Women In Distress will be the benefactor of the silent auction taking place during the luncheon.
