Back to business in September
I love September and all it means—nearing the fourth quarter, we know what we have to do to finish this year with a profit, kids are back in school, holiday anticipation, football and hockey are back, Chamber membership picks up, and we are selecting leaders for 2013—it’s all good.
Small business owners and those who do business with them will enjoy festivities at the Chamber’s Jazz in the Hall, presented by Edward Jones/William J. Holland, and MSC Cruises on September 13. Always one of our most popular events, you could win an all expenses paid, seven night Caribbean cruise, take a stroll down Bourbon Street, try your luck at blackjack, listen to live music, and enjoy the wonderful food and drink beginning at 5:30 pm.
Make international business part of your business plan with our iConnect Forum held at the International Game Fishing Hall of Fame, Sept. 19, 8:30 am. Alex Sink, Evelyn D’An, Frances Faigenblat and Manny Mencia will give you valuable information during this panel discussion moderated by Sun Sentinel business reporter Doreen Hemlock.
NOVA Southeastern University President and CEO Dr. George L. Hanbury II will meet with our Board of Directors, Trustees and Chairman’s Circle members also on Sept. 19, 11:30 am, at the Hilton Marina. Hanbury will be giving an update on the aggressive and exciting expansion plans for NOVA.
Lastly, Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization Director, Greg Stuart, will inform attendees about regional transportation plans at the Downtown Council breakfast, presented by the Downtown Development Authority, Sept. 27, 8:00 am, at the Tower Club atop the Regions Bank building. This is always a popular update and sure to be well attended.
See you at the Chamber!
