Election and 103rd Board of Directors
Believe it of not there is an election in the City of Fort Lauderdale, Tuesday, January 15, for the District 2 seat vacated by Charlotte Rodstrom. She’s running again after losing the race for County Commissioner. Also running are former City Commissioner and Chamber member Dean Trantalis, Chamber Board member Chuck Black, and Lester Zalewski.
This month marks the start of our 103rd Board of Directors when they meet in session for the first time on January 31. Before we move too quickly I especially want to thank those retiring directors for all they did to make our year so successful: Tim Petrillo, The Restaurant People, Mindy Jennings, Payrolls Plus, Jim Oliver, The Ritz Carlton, and Lynn Shatas, Florida Power & Light.
Chuck Mohr, BB&T, is chairman, following the fine work accomplished by the leadership of Andreas Ioannou, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort and Galleryone Fort Lauderdale. Following Mohr in our succession planning will be Courtney Crush, Crush Law, then Calvin Glidewell, Broward General Medical Center.
