Innovation celebrated by Chamber of Commerce
Unique business strategies, products and services will be celebrated next week at the 2nd Annual Innovation Awards presented by Florida Power and Light Company and produced by the largest business organization in Broward County.
“We recognized the connection between creative business practices, jobs and growing our regional economy,” said Dan Lindblade, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. “Our mission with this program is to celebrate, educate and connect innovators across all industries.”
Nominations are due no later than Dec. 8 and can be filled out online by going to www.ftlchamber.com/innovation. You can nominate your own company or another, there is no fee to apply and you do not need to be a Chamber member to qualify.
The product or service produced by the company must have been introduced within the last three (3) years and the business must be headquartered in the tri-county region.
There were 36 nominations for the inaugural Innovation Awards program in 2013 with 11 given out to companies like Resolve Marine, Broward College, United Way, the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, Prodeco Electric Bicycles, and Broward Health to name a few.
The ceremony will take place on Dec. 11, beginning at 4:00 pm on the second floor of the Galleria at Fort Lauderdale adjacent to Dillard’s and immediately preceding the Chamber’s annual Holiday Social. While there is no fee to attend the Innovation Awards, there is a $25 fee for the Holiday Social.
