Powerful Healthcare Lineup Nov. 13

The holiday season is upon us yet there is much work to accomplish in 2015.  Your Chamber continues to produce award winning programs and healthcare is center stage in two weeks..

Perspectives on Florida's Healthcare and Excellence in Health Care Awards Luncheon, presented by Sunshine Health, on Friday November 13 is a must attend forum and luncheon.  Our keynote speaker for our opening grand session will be Liz Dudek, secretary for the Agency for Healthcare Administration.

Co-chairs Ron Finkelstein, MBAF, and Ashley Boxer, Memorial Healthcare System, and their hard working committee have put together compelling and relevant topics for two tracks of concurrent sessions on the following topics:

Understanding the ACA Puzzle

A discussion of the requirements imposed on employers by the ACA, their choices and obligations, and ways to comply.

Medical Marijuana--this is no longer a laughing matter

Legalization of medical marijuana is creating HR, compliance and other issues for healthcare providers.  This panel will discuss those issues and provide guidance in a contradictory legal environment

Consumer Responsibility--What is the Employer's Role?

With increased deductibles and emphasis placed on personal responsibility, what role should an employer take in promoting employees' healthy choices and lifestyles?  This panel will discuss some of the steps their employers are taking to promote the health of their employees.

The Changing  Health Care Delivery System

A roundtable discussion on the manner in which the healthcare delivery system in Broward County is changing through the emergence of "minute clinics", pharmacy-based clinics, accountable care organizations, patient-centered medical homes, integrated delivery systems, etc.  Participants in the discussion are leaders in Broward County's healthcare delivery system.

Attendees also have a chance to visit our Healthcare Marketplace and visit with our partners--Sunshine Health, MBAF, Broward Health, Nova Southeastern University, Soring, Fort Lauderdale Hospital, Memorial Healthcare System, Baptist Health South Florida, VITAS Healthcare, University of Miami, BNY Mellon, Gray Robinson, Symphony at Waterways, South Florida Hospital News, Latin2Latin Marketing, Eye On South FL, and Lifestyle Publications.

After the morning sessions we will gather at lunch to honor those who have been nominated and won our Excellence in Healthcare Awards.  Register here for the program.
