The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce is the first Chamber in the
state of Florida and one of the first in the nation to recognize the LGBT
community as an major component of their membership.&nbsp; The contributions of the
Gay and Lesbian Community within our city and surrounding area as being a major
driver to our local economy. As the mission of the Chamber is to drive economic
growth for the greater community, it was recognized that the Gay and Lesbian
Community needed to be included in a manner to unite and connect, giving an
inclusive voice to continue to attract new Gay and Lesbian businesses.</span></p>
<p>
<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; color: black;">
GLBX originated as the Gay and Lesbian Business Exchange and formally became a
council in late 2010, shortly before our two year anniversary.&nbsp; Growth of our
membership to 150 members in less than two years was a milestone on our road to
success. </span></p>
<p>
<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; color: black;">
We encourage all Gay and Lesbian owned businesses as well as gay friendly
businesses in Greater Fort Lauderdale to visit us at one of our after hour
events and considering joining our membership. </span></p>
