On-The Job Training (OJT) Grant

Hiring someone with potential but lacking direct experience?  The On-the-Job Training (OJT) Grant can help you build the talent you need while reducing hiring costs.

Eligible Broward County employers may receive reimbursement of up to 90% of a new employee's wages for up to 90 days while they learn the skills needed to succeed in their role.  Whether you're filling a hard-to-staff position or investing in a promising candidate, OJT helps you train employees your way while significantly lowering onboarding expenses.

The grant may also be used when promoting and training a current employee for a new position within your organization.

Important: Training grant agreement must be fully executed before the employee is hired or promoted into the new role.

The Incumbent Worker Training Grant helps Broward County employers invest in their existing employees by providing reimbursement of up to 90% of eligible training costs.  Whether you're introducing new technology or equipment, strengthening or upgrading skills, or preparing your team for future growth, this grant can help offset the cost.

Employees must have been with your company for at least six months to qualify.  Businesses planning multiple training initiatives can conveniently include them within a single application.
